Food for Thought
I came across a quote from Catholic social activist, anarchist and political radical, Dorothy Day, about "food for the soul" and it got me to thinking about some other words of wisdom concerning food.
Food for the body is not enough. There must be food for the soul. >Dorothy Day<
You know that what you eat you are, But what is sweet now turns so sour. >from the Beatles song “Savoy Truffle,” written by George Harrison<
Blessed is the lion eaten by a human, so that it becomes human. But cursed is the human whom the lion consumes, so that he or she becomes a lion. After all, contrary to popular belief, it’s not what you eat that you become, But it’s what eats you. >Gospel of Thomas 7.1-2, translation by R R Riebe
Eat it, just eat it. Get yourself an egg and beat it. Have some more chicken, have some more pie. It doesn’t matter if it’s broiled or fried. Just eat it…>”Weird Al” Yankovic<
